An Accident by Metog, མེ་ཏོག 12/2009    We really don't know what sort of things will happen in our lives. We have to face many difficulties and solve countless problems. Of course, every human being would like to live in happiness. But an accident may take away many valuable things from people, even their lives. Unfortunately, everything is decided by our fate. Thus, we have to follow what destiny gives us.    Life is actually very fragile and easy to lose. Although we may be young or old, fate doesn't care what we are. If the time has arrived then you have to leave. You don't have power to stay anymore. I never thought a young, beautiful girl's life could be so short. I saw my mother's tears rolling down her rosy cheeks.    “What has happened to our family?” I asked, surprised and looking around the room. I didn't see my younger sister. Except for her, all my family members were there.    “Your younger sister was... ?” my mother said with eyes full of tears. I thought something must have happened to my sister. I couldn't control myself and cried loudly. My oldest sister came from the kitchen.    “Don't cry. Crying cannot solve the problems and return life,” she said with tears in her big eyes. I couldn't accept this truth at that moment and cried loudly. I lost all my energy and had no emotion in my body. My mind had become empty and dark.    I really couldn't believe that such a tiny piece of sand could take away valuable life. Since that time, I hate sand, because it took away my dear sister's life forever. I know it was caused by her fate; however, I don't have power over it and so I have to accept the fact.    While we are living, we are actually losing many valuable things. After we have realized that something is lacking or lost in our lives, then we know how valuable it is. Consequently, beginning every moment we should cherish everyone and everything we have.
